Jelani Inc is a non-profit community-based organization in the Bayview/Hunter's Point district in San Francisco.

 

MISSION


Jelani Inc. is a social services agency providing substance abuse treatment for women, women with children, pregnant and postpartum women, men with children and families. The agency also provides family services and services for the children of our clients. There are three residential programs offering a comprehensive approach through modified therapeutic communities, case management and after-care. Jelani Inc. believes in the right and ability of each individual to heal from substance abuse and dependence in an environment of support from their peers and guidance from expert staff.

ELIGIBILITY
 
Jelani Inc. offers a variety of services through its various treatment programs. Expanded eligibility requirements may apply at each of these programs. However, the minimum eligibility requirement for the agency is as follows:

Agency Programs  
 
 
Jelani House
This is a six to nine months residential program for pregnant and post-partum women and their children five years or younger.  Single pregnant women with up to two children may enter the program. Priority placement is given to those who are pregnant, intravenous drug users, substance abusers, and homeless. Those with CPS Reunification plans are encouraged to enroll.

Family Program

The Family Program (formerly known as Newhall Manor) is a six to nine month residential treatment program for families and single men with children. Adults admitted into the program must have custody of their children or have reunification plans. All children admitted into the Family program must be 12 years old or younger.
 

 Jelani Mission Recovery

This is a six to nine months residential treatment program for single women with children. The facility is located in the Mission District of San Francisco, and specifically provides treatment to women with issues of addiction along with mental health diagnoses. Women entering the program may have a maximum of two children entering the program. The children must be 12 years old or younger.

 Jelani Transitional House

 This is a two years transitional program for single women their children. Applicants must be homeless and have thirty days sobriety. Applicants may have up to two children entering the program with them, depending on space availability. Children entering into the program must be twelve years or younger. Those applying for placement must be receiving GA, CalWorks, or other public assistance programs in order to be eligible.
